Asian American Studies Research Grants

The Asian American Studies Program offers a limited number of small grants ($250.00 maximum) aimed at supporting research in the field. Proposals must make evident that the research focuses on an Asian American topic.

Eligibility

All OSU students are eligible to apply. Funds may be used for the purposes of conference travel, travel to another site to pursue research, or other needs related to Asian American Studies research. Please note the change: OSU students may apply for one award per conference, research trip, or other research-related use. Applicants are not restricted to one award per year.

Submission

Submit completed application form (available here as a Word document [doc]) to aas@osu.edu. Please re-save this document so that the file name starts with your last name, followed by your first name, (e.g., "Doe_Jane_AAS_Travel_Grant_Application.")

Deadline

Information is not yet available for the 2014-2015 academic year - please check back later.

Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on several factors: 1.) relevance and contribution to Asian American Studies, 2.) enhancement of the individual's professional and/or intellectual development, and 3.) clarity and comprehensiveness of the budget.

Reimbursement

Funds for grants that are awarded to faculty and staff will be transferred to their home unit. The unit will then process expenditures related to the award. Funds for grants that are awarded to students will be processed through Financial Aid. At that time, the student will need to submit his or her ID number and a copy of the approved grant proposal.
