Chinese Studies Dissertation Scholarships

The China Times Cultural Foundation is offering scholarships in support of doctoral dissertation-writing and research in Chinese studies for the academic year 2006-2007. Eligibility is restricted to doctoral candidates with approved proposals in the humanities and social sciences and who are enrolled in a university in the United States or Canada. Scholarships are in the amount of $5,000. They are awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement without regard to academic discipline, race or nationality. Beginning this year, there will be given a special award in memory of our founder Chi-Chung Yu. It will be given to the top winner from the applicants with cash award of $10,000. The rest will receive $5,000. Applicants must send a completed application form, curriculum vitae, official transcript of graduate course work, reprints of publications (if any), and a project description in English and Chinese. Deadline for application is June 30, 2006. Awards will be announced in October 2006. Application form is required and may be obtained from:
