Call for Nominations
The Multicultural Center at The Ohio State University seeks nominations from the University and the central Ohio Community for 10 award categories. The Multicultural Center Awards are designed to acknowledge significant accomplishment, initiative, innovation, work, or service in areas intersecting with the Multicultural Center mission. Specific award categories encourage recognition of important multicultural work both within the University and in the central Ohio community. In addition to offering serious and heartfelt recognition, these awards strengthen partnerships and build bridges with individuals and organizations working in cooperation with Multicultural Center values and goals. The 5th Annual Multicultural Center Awards will be presented on May 16, 2006, 4-6pm, Stecker Lounge, Ohio Union, 1739 North High Street. The reception and program are open to the public.

Award Categories
Multicultural Center University Awards:
Academic Service and Outreach: OSU individuals or organizations that have served the University and central Ohio community by contributing their skills and knowledge to help educate others.
Advocacy: OSU individuals or organizations that have given of their time and energy to help the Multicultural Center fulfill its mission--particularly by working to educate the campus community about the issues affecting various constituencies, and by making the University a more inclusive and safe place for all.
Faculty Award: OSU faculty who exemplify exceptional characteristics in the areas of leadership and service—touching lives by going above and beyond usual expectations.
Graduate/Professional Student Award: OSU Graduate/Professional students who have, in addition to work and academic scholarship, made an impact on the University community through advocacy, enthusiasm, and dedication.
Outstanding Organization: OSU groups that have provided exceptional programs and services for various constituency groups.
Outstanding Program: OSU events, activities, or involvements that count among the very best when it comes to promoting awareness concerns for various constituency groups as well as service to both the campus and surrounding communities.
Staff Award: OSU staff that exemplify exceptional characteristics in the areas of leadership and service—touching lives by going above and beyond usual expectations.
Undergraduate Student Award: OSU undergraduate students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, and have made an impact on the University community through their advocacy.

Multicultural Center Community Awards:
Outstanding Community Leader Award: An individual who has provided exceptional support, leadership, and advocacy for various constituencies
Outstanding Community Organization Award: Organizations that have provided exceptional support, leadership, and advocacy for various constituencies.
