Summer Teaching Positions: English Instructors to Teach at Wuhan University (July 9 - August 5, 2006)

The Wuhan Summer Intensive English Program (WUSIEP) is a collaborative project between Wuhan University and The Ohio State University. 2006 marks the third year of the program. We are looking for 30 instructors to teach intensive English for four weeks at Wuhan University. Students: Selected undergraduates of Wuhan University, with English level equal to TOFEL 450 and higher. Wuhan University, located in central China, is a top 10 university with 47,000 students.

Objectives: To provide intensive spoken English language and American culture instruction for highly selected Wuhan University students with the following goals:
1) to improve students' spoken English;
2) to implement quality education on American cultural topics;
3) to provide a meaningful, communicative, content-based learning experience for students.

Teacher Qualifications:
1) Excellent proficiency in English;
2) Master’s degree or current enrollment in graduate program in TESOL or related discipline;
3) Classroom teaching experience required, preferably at college level.

Dates: July 9th – August 5th, 2006 (with optional pre- and post-program tours, the whole program will last from July 4th to August 10th).

Job Duties: Classroom teaching for four weeks, with five hours per day Monday – Friday; participation in related administrative, academic, and extracurricular activities.

Compensation:
1) International round-trip airfare and airport pick-up;
2) Campus accommodation and meals covered;
3) Free local tours around Wuhan city;
4) Subsidies: from RMB 3,500.00 to 5,000.00, depending on qualifications.
